BoseŽ Speaker Wire Adapter Kit Details
What is it?
An accessory that connects Bose® home theater systems to pre-installed speaker wiring.
- Speaker plate (White or Ivory) attaches to pre-installed speaker wires.
- 7-ft. (2.13m) home thater speaker cable (White) connects Acoustimass® module speaker outputs to the speaker plate.
Why do we need it?
This kit provides a solution to obstacles two types of consumers face:
- Those who have preinstalled speaker wires in their homes and are interested in a Bose home theater system.
- Those who are interested in a Bose home theater system but choose to purchase the speaker cables separately (e.g. Monster cable) instead of using the speaker cable that came with the system.
- Bose® Lifestyle and Acoustimass® systems
- Compatible with 5.1 and 6.1 channel systems
- Can be used with speaker wire up to 14 gauge
- The kit mounts to a standard single-gang electrical box (not included)

Product Review:
I already pre-wired the room for an older sound system with good wire wthough the attic. I needed a solution that would allow me to use bare wire conections and to keep the wire mess to a miniumum. This product did exactly what it should with easy to decipher connections. I am very glad that I found it.

I want to opt for a Bose 5.1 home theatre system in my new home. Can you give me details about the height and distances at which the front and rear speakers should be ideally installed for best performance. I shall lay the wire conduits accordingly.

In setting up your home theater system, the placement of speakers really depends on the size of the room and where are you placing the TV. Ideally, the front speakers should be at ear height, producing a 45° angle as viewed from the main seating position. The rear speakers should be 2 feet or higher above the listener.
